Despite the challenge of affordable housing, Loudoun County remains a great place to do business!

According to ‘Ashburn Today’, high house prices do not deter people from coming to Loudoun County, Virginia to live, work and do business.  Loudoun offers a unique area with a reasonable commuting distance to D.C. as well as a highly skilled workforce who benefit from the county’s high quality of life.

As the final decision was made on the new MetroRail transport link many asked ‘what about housing?’  In reality the area has a healthy real estate market because of its desirable location, however it is noted that there is no quick fix solution to the issue of affordable housing.  Supply isn’t the problem but type of housing - the most common type of housing in the area is an executive home.

However it is not just the current market that needs to be provided for by the local and federal government, future generations should be addressed in an all inclusive market study which would predict the changing needs of housing in the area as demographics change.
