Loudoun County Board of Supervisors Consider Development Proposals

Construction of new County Government Offices Planned

Five developers are pitching to the County to build the new county offices. On Tuesday September 11th the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors heard proposals from the five developers, however the board is still undecided whether to move the county’s offices from their existing location in Leesburg to another town in Loudoun County.

It seems unlikely however that a final proposal and plan will be drawn up before the current Board of Supervisors contract ends in December.

The current office space in downtown Leesburg is 158,000 square feet, whereas the one of the proposals under consideration would be for the new complex to be 500,000 square feet with room to expand by 300,000 square feet in the future if needed.

It is hoped that the development of a new office complex for the local government will spur development of surrounding areas in line with the county’s current expansion plans.
