Loudoun Real Estate Update: Kincora Development Turned Down
Top Development Rejected by planning officials
The Kincora project as previously blogged about was a planned mixed use development of retail, commercial and residential units was rejected by the Loudoun Board of Supervisors after a public hearing on Tuesday night.
The 424 acre development which would have designated 185 acres as recreational land was spoke of favorably for many months since its proposal in February 2007 particularly due to the inclusion of a performing arts center.
The 1068 residential unit project was voted on immediately by the Board who came to the conclusion that the local infrastructure could not handle the increased volume on the roads.
The Board felt that development of the large site would have been inappropriate and voted as such. Many residents see it as a victory as they have campaigned for smarter, more efficient growth of the area - taking into consideration the infrastructure and impact on the surroundings.
